The Farm House has been established as a public museum to draw attention to the significance of agriculture in this region. It is on a nature reserve in the outskirts of Gyula and most exhibits are donations from local farmers. The nature reserve, with its unique flora and fauna, attracts researchers and nature lovers.
The museum's collection of approximately 2,000 items illustrates rural life and farming practices from the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. Since accommodation and meals are also available on this site, you can easily spend an entire day on the farm. The farm offers an interesting array of activities, like horse-riding, horse-drawn carriage rides, Csikós (herdsmen) shows, and riding lessons for beginners, to mention just a few. Visitors can watch and learn about racing horses, grey cattle, buffaloes, sheep and domestic animals.
