Elixbeer Brewery was established in Gyulavári Castle. In addition to traditional beers, they sell other specialty and certified organic beers, as well.
Their first beer, ”Alakor” (literal meaning: einkorn wheat) is named after one of the earliest cultivated species of wheat. This special grain was organically grown successfully in Hungary, after several years of trials in the eco-fields of the Körös-Maros Organic Farm. The antioxidant and trace mineral content of einkorn wheat is significantly higher than that of conventional grains used in the brewing industry. Specific fermentation and maturation processes that are carried out ensure that these healthy natural ingredients are retained.
