Erkel Ferenc Square

The lovely atmosphere of the city centre is captivating in every season of the year. The Erkel Ferenc Square, which was renovated in 2020, is well worth a visit, because the bronze bust of Ferenc Erkel, the great composer is in the middle of the square. It was created by Ede Kallós and inaugurated on the 26th of June in 1896.

A remarkable feature is the spotlights placed around the Erkel statue because they represent the musical notes of the Hungarian national anthem. The famous 100-year-old confectionery and the „Nádi Boldogasszony” Catholic church are in Erkel Square, as well.
